Aprenda a usar "to", "in order to", "so as to" e "so that" para expressar propósito e finalidade em inglês.

Estas estruturas indicam a finalidade ou o objetivo pelo qual fazemos algo. Lembre-se destas regras de uso [1]:

  1. To: Usamos “to” + verbo para dizer por que fazemos algo. Nunca use “for” antes do infinitivo com essa função [1].
  2. In order to / So as to: São muito comuns com verbos de estado (ex: be, have, know) [1].
  3. Forma Negativa: Antes de um infinitivo negativo, usamos in order not to ou so as not to (nunca apenas “not to”) [1].
  4. So that: Normalmente vem seguido de um pronome e um verbo modal, como can, could, will ou would [1].
