A Super El Niño Is Coming

El Niño is a weather pattern in the Pacific Ocean. It is forming now, and scientists at the UK Met Office are watching it closely. Their forecast says it may become the strongest El Niño in more than 100 years. In some areas of the Pacific, sea water is almost 3°C warmer than usual. The UK may have a wetter autumn with stronger storms. Parts of South America and the western Pacific may face a serious drought. A drought means there is very little rain for many weeks or months.
